Kristina Tonev is a Lithuanian born artist, based in Suffolk, England.
She is currently studying in a second year of Fine Art in University of Suffolk, where she is exploring the concepts of time and mortality while incorporating a humorous element. Tonev's practice involves video, installation, performance art as well as sculpture and painting, which she used for her final project in Suffolk New College, while she studied Art and Design in 2021.
In 2022 the artist joined Laurence Edwards Bronze Foundry, Halesworth, as an intern where to this day she is honing her skills in the bronze sculpture technique using the lost wax process.
Tonev has volunteered at Saxmundham based The Art Station, where she assisted with exhibitions, private viewings, and audience tours. Tonev has exhibited her paintings internationally from New York to Shanghai. Prior to her studies through her desire for connection with the local community, she joined the Dennington Village Hall artists group and became part of the organizing committee for the yearly art events. When not in university Tonev manages and represents local artists in The W Gallery, Woodbridge.
