Can you paint my pussy cat?

No.
This is my simple answer.
But don’t rush to get offended, I promise you it is not because I don’t like you.

1. I dislike painting hair/fur.
2. I get bored looking at the photograph and trying to replicate it.
3. I am on this planet only once so better do what I want to do and not just what I think it would make money.

I got quite few animal portrait requests after I posted these two paintings with 4-legged friends on my social media platforms.

These are exceptions.

I know I don’t have to justify myself, but I would like to tell you a bit more how these two joined my oasis.

‘The Pearl Sea’ (Dachshunds) is a gift for one of my dearest friends Laura.

Laura has been a good friend throughout my artistic journey, especially in challenging times. She owns a beauty salon and was pampering me with no charge, just because she wanted to lift my spirits up.

She even leased one of her sausage dogs (her name is Sesame) every time we met, so a strong bond was built.

Little things like this that matters the most. Would you agree?

The second animal painting is ‘Royal Sphynx Babe’ painting of a naked cat. It was born completely spontaneous and in the moment of spur, but also with a meaning behind it.

I am fascinated by the mysterious, weird, and beautiful cat breed Sphynx; and I wanted to paint one of these naked creatures for a long time.

Another wonderful lady called Laura (what a coincidence or is it?) has messaged me with her beautiful baby cat picture and I thought this is the one. Laura (the Sphynx cat friend) has been one of the loyal customers many years ago when I worked as a hairdresser.

So, unless your name is Laura, and we have a story to share, I am not painting another pet any time soon.
