The Last Breath

The Last Breath is just one of my many experiments at the University of Suffolk, while studying ephemeral ideas and researching about life/death and other binary concepts like capture/escape, visible/invisible.

After turning in my final assignment work of level 4 course in Fine Art, and after some time has passed since my first performance art, The Last Breath, I am still digesting what had happened in the previous year and how I fit into the context of Suffolk community and the larger scheme of things.

The more I am opening up, it seems more complex, yet so simple.

When I started this course I strongly believed Arts as being a hierarchy, in which painting and sculpture were at the top of the list. I no longer think that, in fact, I have noticed that I am getting more tolerant with uncertainties, which allows me to enter the creative process.

I am grateful for lecturers of UoS, my peers and the whole team in University. The facilities and equipment are outstanding. I am lucky to be a student in this beautiful location, surrounded by amazing people.

I am particularly grateful for the friendships that have lasted; for example, my favourite teacher Helen Armstrong from SNC came to the Exhibition at UoS.

Through The Last Breath, I also met new people in the local art communities and film industry. I booked tickets to see Marina Abramović live and I couldn't be more excited.

Painting, Sculpture, Performance Art, Film making: I am having fun experimenting with various art elements. I recognise there is a lot of editing to be done in my creative process, but I'm taking my time and not comparing my chapter 3 to someone else's chapter 17. I am just in time for everything that happens, and so are you.

P.S. I haven’t forgotten the collection of peoples breath that I own. I am thinking about how I could explore this idea further, but with interactive art, so that you can experience it too.
