Finally we can have a summer!

As the doors are open almost everywhere, we can have a normal summer again! As normal as we can make it with the news across the world.

I have started my summer with a trip to Lithuania, the country I was born in.

I love nature, I grew up surrounded by lakes and forests. Restaurants with 25 forks are not impressive to me. We went camping, fishing and swimming in lakes instead.

This is just a glimpse of how I have spend my childhood and I was happy to share it with my 4 year old adventurer.

From catching his own fish, collecting Colorado potato beetles, picking berries and even organising his first snail race, safe to say, Leon (my son) enjoyed the experiences as much as I did.

Bare feet by the lake turned into high heels and evening gown when I stepped on the stage to tell the speech for my first schools jubilee celebration. Gymnasium Vidiškės of Lithuania has just celebrated it’s 30th birthday and I was honoured to be invited to share those moments together with my teachers, peers, the whole school team. It was emotional, but unforgettable experience.

I wanted to give something back, something I am proud of and so the school would be proud too. This painting means absolutely everything to me, so selling it was not an option, nor hiding it in my home either, as it has to be seen and loved. This painting was featured in the Ipswich Star news and nominated for a Made in Uni award.

Holidays are lovely, but I am glad to get back to my arty stuff.

Since finishing College with my very first sculpture Shero, I was pleasantly surprised to get sculpture commissions straight away.

So far I have done 3 clay sculptures and am currently working on another commission. I am exited to explore this medium and hopefully with practice I can take my sculpting onto another level. To me that would mean making bronze sculptures.

If you know anyone who teaches bronze sculpting or know a great book, vlog or anything about bronze sculpting, I would greatly appreciate any of this information.

You can leave a comment here or simply DM me on my social platforms, like Facebook or Instagram.

Have a great summer!
