Fun Crime Scene is how Kristina Tonev, a Lithuanian-born artist based in Suffolk, England, would describe her most recent performance art at the University of Suffolk, where she is studying BA (Hons) Fine Art.
Her main concerns are time and mortality while incorporating a humorous element. She is currently investigating these themes through video, installation, and performance art.
While Marina Abramovic is someone she admires for the way she invites the audience into uncomfortable conversations, Tonev aims to find ways to bring playfulness for her audiences. She believes that life is painful enough as it is, but we still have to talk about uncomfortable topics like death and life cycles for a better future in our communities.
